I will follow the illuminated road to the place where light grows, 2014
This painting is very important to me as it reflects an era in my life that I actively started to search new direction for my life. This vision had haunted me a long time. One evening I was out on a walk and decided to take a path to the woods although it was already dark. The clouds were hanging quite low so they reflected the light from the town nearby. With that light reflecting from the clouds and snow I dared to walk deeper in the woods. I ended up on a small meadow and on the other side of that meadow I saw exactly the same spruce covered with snow that had been haunting me in my imagination. The tree was shining - it was a halting moment for me in my life. I rushed home and painted this painting alla prima.
Although it portrays a snow covered tree I encountered in a forest, it can also be perceived as a figure of a woman. I want to dedicate this painting to all women of our era. I sense very strongly that we are entering an era of feminine power - an era of caring of each other and genuine will to work together for a better world.
